The Missouri Public Service Commission regulates investor-owned electric, natural gas, steam, water and sewer utilities in Missouri. The Commission also has limited jurisdiction over telecommunications providers in the state.

Johnson Hall opened in August 2009 and is UMKC’s first facility named for an African-American. It is a part of the huge legacy Herman and Dorothy H. Johnson left to the Kansas City area.
